The Village of Gilberts is located in Kane county, Illinois, 42 miles from the downtown Chicago loop. The Village of Gilberts was platted in 1855 and incorporated in 1890. Prior to this time the Native American nations such as the Blackhawks, Algonquin, and Pottowatomies inhabited the rolling hills of this region. Today the expansion of the Randall Rd area to IL47 has lead to subdivisions being built.
