Area Information
The area of Hanover Township was known as Hoosier Grove from the 1830’s through 1950’s with a population of mostly dairy farmers. After WWII the area was beginning its shift from farming to suburban housing with GI bill funding. On February 25, 1957, the Village of Streamwood was developed. Streamwood is located approxiamtely 37 miles from the Chicago downtown loop and 15 miles from O’Hare International Airport.
