Sleepy Hollow, IL is 38 miles NW of the downtown Chicago Loop. Sleepy Hollow is located in NE Kane county with a population of 3214 as of 2020′. The village of Sleepy Hollow has a total area of 2.026 square miles. The village is on the site of Sleepy Hollow Farm. In fact, The barn serves as the village hall. In 1958 the village incorporated as Sleepy Hollow.

Amazingly, the village has no fast-food restaurants, no downtown, no busines district, as well as very little traffic. In addition, Sleepy Hollow is for the most part five residential developments beginning in 1959 with 1/2 acre lots or more. Finally, in the 1980s Windsor Development built the Deer Creek and Surrey Ridge subdivisions. In particular, almost all 5 subdivisions in Sleepy Hollow are in unincorporated Kane County and are on well and septic systems.
